Compliance & certification
Food-contact compliance is the first thing an importer is asked about and the most common reason a container gets held at customs or pulled from a shelf. This is what we test, what we can prove, and how you verify it yourself without taking our word for it.
- FDA + LFGB
- food-contact testing as standard
- ISO 17025
- accredited laboratories used
- 2026-06-06
- EU siloxane limit takes effect
- SKU-level
- reports matched to the exact item
Go straight to the topic
Which articles count as food contact, which standard applies in each market, and what a usable test report actually has to contain.
Read → Guide PFAS & REACHTwo rule changes are about to reshape how kitchen products are specified: the cyclic siloxane limit under REACH, and the spread of state-level PFAS restrictions in the United States.
Read → Guide Packaging rulesPackaging is no longer a cost line you can decide in the last week before loading. Recyclability, recycled content and producer-responsibility registration now follow the goods into the destination market.

The most common compliance mistake is treating a product range as one unit. Food contact is decided per article and per surface. A glass spice jar with a bamboo lid and a silicone gasket has three surfaces to consider, and the gasket is usually the one that decides the result.
| Category | Food contact | Testing we supply | Also applies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kitchen organization — containers, jars, lids, gaskets | Yes | FDA 21 CFR 177 · LFGB / BfR XV · migration results per material layer | REACH SVHC, packaging duties |
| Kitchen organization — dividers, racks, organisers | No | None required for food contact | REACH SVHC, RoHS on coatings and hardware |
| Cleaning consumables | No | None required for food contact | REACH, Prop 65 disclosure, PFAS declarations where applicable |
| Silicone kitchenware | Yes | FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 · LFGB / BfR XV · volatile content | REACH Annex XVII entry 70 for D4/D5/D6 |
| Retail packaging | Indirect | Food-safe where it touches the article | PPWR, EPR registration, labelling |
Documents we can send with a quotation
- Food-contact test reports from ISO 17025 accredited laboratories, with the certificate number and the sample description intact.
- A declaration of compliance for the specific article, material and colour being quoted.
- REACH SVHC screening results, and a platinum-cured confirmation for silicone items against the D4/D5/D6 limit.
- Prop 65 disclosure screening for the US market, and PFAS-free declarations where a state-level restriction applies.
- Material composition and packaging weights per SKU for your own EPR and labelling filing.
- Safety data and care instructions for the destination market, in the language you need.
We send the report we hold, unedited. If it does not cover the article you asked about, we say so and quote the test rather than sending a document that looks relevant.
